Description

On offer here is a very rare LP (especially in this condition!!!!) by Mike Corbett & Jay Hirsh (with Hugh McCracken) called "Mike Corbett & Jay Hirsh" and is a MASSIVELY rare 1971 UK Stereo 1st pressing on the Red/Maroon (Plum) Atlantic label!!!!  THIS LP IS SERIOUSLY RARE - AND ONE OF THE RAREST RED/MAROON (PLUM) ATLANTIC LPS EVER PRESSED!!!!  IT SOLD IN TINY QUANTITIES ON RELEASE AND IS VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO LOCATE!!!!  NOT ONLY THAT BUT IT IS ONE OF THE LAST LPS EVER PRESSED ON THE RED/MAROON (PLUM) ATLANTIC LABEL (BEFORE THE CHANGE TO THE LATER GREEN/ORANGE ATLANTIC LABEL) - AND IS VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND ON THIS 1ST PRESSED LABEL!!!!  THIS LP IS ALSO EXTRA SPECIAL AS IT IS ONE OF THE EARLIEST POSSIBLE 1ST PRESSINGS - WITH A UK 'STICKERED' U.S. SLEEVE - COUPLED WITH A UK DISC.  THIS WAS COMMON PRACTICE BY ATLANTIC - USUALLY TO SEE IF THE LP THEY WERE RELEASING SOLD IN SUFFICIENT QUANTITIES TO WARRANT A UK MADE SLEEVE.  THIS SLEEVE IS EASILY IDENTIFIED AS A GENIUNE UK SLEEVE MEANT FOR THE UK MARKET - AS IT HAS A UK STICKER ON THE REVERSE OF THE SLEEVE WITH THE CORRECT UK CAT NUMBER AND TEXT - AND OF COURSE A UK 1ST PRESSED RECORD!!!!  THIS IS THE 1971 UK 1ST PRESSING ON THE 1ST PRESS RED/MAROON (PLUM) ATLANTIC LABEL, 1ST PRESS INNER SLEEVE, A/1 B/1 MATRIX ENDINGS, AND 1ST PRESS U.S. 'UK STICKERED' GATEFOLD SLEEVE!!!!  THIS LP IS ONE OF THE RAREST LPS ON THE PLUM ATLANTIC LABEL AND VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND - SO DONT MISS OUT ON THIS MEGA RARE OPPORTUNITY!!!! The Cat. No is 2400 144 on the ORIGINAL 1st Press Red/Maroon Atlantic label (see picture) and is a Stereo 1st pressing!!!! All the tracks are Pure quality Mike Corbett & Jay Hirsh at their best!!!! Any fan of Mike Corbett & Jay Hirsh, Mr Floods Party or 60s/70s music in general, will want to have this in their collection!!!!

The record labels are in STUNNING condition (see pictures) with NO wear, NO writing and barely ANY spindle marks AT ALL!!!!  IT IS VERY CLEAR THAT THIS RECORD HASNT BEEN PLAYED MUCH AT ALL!!!!  The vinyl is in GREAT condition!!!!  Most of these LPs had been to a lot of wild parties and are usually found totally worn out, and almost unplayable. This one is NOT and has NO scratches, only a few light hairlines, and only a few of the lightest paper scuffs only visible under light!!!!  THE RECORD STILL RETAINS ITS ORIGINAL 'JUST PRESSED' LOOK!!!! It is also great to find that the playing of the record is as STUNNING as the visual!!!! It plays with only a few occassional isolated clicks/pops, NO jumps, NO sticks, NO hiss, and only some VERY slight low level crackle in a VERY few places!!!!  There is NO groovewear either and NO distortion. The record must grade Very Good (PROPERLY graded, NOT trashed) if not better!!!!  Believe me this record is NOT overgraded in ANY way!!!! I use STRICT RC grading standards - it is not in my interest not to!!!! Brillant!!!! The record also comes in its ORIGINAL inner sleeve!!!! The 1st Press U.S. 'UK Stickered' Gatefold Cover is in GREAT condition - though not perfect!!!! It has NO edgewear, slight spinal wear (only to the points of the spine - side words still readable), some slight grubbyness to the spine and spinal corners, only slight corner wear, only a VERY few light creases (cover is VERY flat looking),  and NO writing!!!! The opening edge is beautifully straight with NO feathering!!!! Even the inside is in STUNNING condition with NO writing, and NO grubbyness!!!! This cover has NO rips, NO tears, NO rips, and NO writing - however it has have some yellowing to the spinal half of the cover (see pictures) - though actually this looks FAR worse in the pictures than it does in your hand.  What has caused this I dont know.  I have checked the cover throughly and there is NO evidence of grease or oil - so maybe this cover was stored in the wrong conditions.  And there is NO evidence of water damage either.  It is a shame - as apart from the yellowing this cover is VERY presentable.  The UK sticker on the reverse of the cover is in PERFECT 'unpicked' condition!!!!  The cover must grade Very Good (Minus)  - and apart from the yellowing has NO major faults.  THIS MAY NOT BE A MINT 1ST PRESSING OF THIS LP - BUT IT IS SERIOUSLY RARE AND VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO LOCATE!!!!  AND IF YOU CAN LIVE WITH THE YELLOWING ON THE COVER (WHICH LOOKS MUCH BETTER CLOSE UP THAN IN THE PICTURES) - THEN YOU HAVE A SERIOUSLY RARE LP WHICH PLAYS VERY WELL INDEED!!!!  IT WILL SURELY BE A VERY VERY LONG TIME BEFORE ANOTHER 1ST PRESSING OF THIS LP TURNS UP FOR SALE - SO DONT MISS OUT ON THIS MEGA RARE OPPORTUNITY!!!!

HAVE A LOOK AT MY PICTURES - I DO MY BEST TO SHOW THE RECORD FROM ALL ANGLES AND MAKE THE PICTURES AS CLEAR AS POSSIBLE - THERE IS NOTHING TO HIDE!!!! It really is a GREAT looking LP and it is truly rare to find any copies of this MEGA RARE LP by in this sort of condition!!!! THIS WILL BE YOUR ONLY CHANCE TO BUY AN ORIGINAL 1971 STEREO UK 1ST PRESSING OF "MIKE CORBETT & JAY KIRSH" BY MIKE CORBETT & JAY KIRSH, IN GREAT CONDITION!!!!  Dont forget to have a look at all my other auctions including many other TOP LPs and contact me with any queries you may have.
