Description
I should qualify the grading on this LP, as it does have some very slight spots of surface noise on SIDE 2, but the LP plays without interference. There are two sessions on this 12 inch LP. The first session features Miles Davis (tp) J.J. Johnson (tb) Lucky Thompson (ts) Horace Silver (p) Percy Heath (b) Kenny Clarke (d)and was recorded on April 29, 1954 and this material is on SIDE A. included are Bags Groove Take 1 & 2. On SIDE B, recorded June 29, 1954 includes Miles Davis (tp) Sonny Rollins (ts) Horace Silver (p) Percy Heath (b) Kenny Clarke (d) Listed are Airegin, Oleo, Doxie and But Not For Me. The initials “RVG” are stamped in both sides of the blank vinyl. The address in the label reads “446 W. 50th ST., N.Y. C”. and the address on the record jacket is “447 west 50th street, new york 19, n.y.” I always wondered why there were two different numbers for that address, but never asked Bob Weinstock why? Guess I forgot! This is a Deep Groove” MONO pressing.
As I stated above, the vinyl was graded as EX. SIDE A plays without any interference, SIDE B does have some slight surface noise in a couple of places, but for most of the playing time, there is none. Please keep this in mind when you are thinking about placing a bid? The is little sign of wear in and around both sides of the spindle hole. The vinyl still retains its original luster.
