NOTE!.....This is an original UK issue from 1958, NOT a later reissue. NOT a US-issue. NOT a boot. (54 years old!)

This is Miles Davis' FIRST album and very rare. Although recordings were released on three 10-inch LPs on Blue Note and Prestige, this LP is the very earliest Miles record under his own name. The legendary, ground-breaking "Birth of Cool" sessions of 1949/50 is the embryo of Modern Jazz and possibly the most important jazz album ever made.
Recorded in 1949 and 1950, these tracks were released on this LP all together for the first time. Cool bop jazz from Miles, Konitz & Mulligan.
