What an assemblage of Jazz talent!  It is no wonder that  Kind of Blue  is regarded by many as the greatest jazz album ever recorded, and certainly the masterpiece of Miles Davis.  Some years ago, Kind of Blue  was certified quadruple platinum (sales of over 4,000,000 copies) by the RIAA.

Our offered copy of  Kind of Blue  is the Original 1st Mono Edition Canadian release, with its distinctive silver and burgundy 6 - Eye Columbia labels, and the "misprint" on the back cover that reverses the order of B1 and B2.  

It is an early pressing, with 1B / 1B Stampers (please see below - and the photos - for the full matrix sequence).

THE VINYL -   VG+ :  Visually, both sides retain much of their original gloss, with a moderate amount of spindlewear present.
Bright, undamaged, Burgundy and Silver Columbia 6 Eye Labels.

There are some marks present, so I felt it necessary to do a playgrade (of course.... who wouldn't want to do a playgrade of this great LP?).  Here is what I found:

Side 1 :  A mark at the beginning of A1 creates 1 short skip, and some background noise for the first minute, then quiets down. The remainder of Side 1 plays cleanly with an occassional crackling and light clicks.

Side 2 :  A mark at the beginning of B1 creates some noise for the first minute, then quiets down.  Side 2 plays cleanly with an occassional crackling and light clicks, except for: 1)  the final 3 minutes of B1 has a mark that produces a regular, light click (extends into the first 2 minutes of B2), and 2)  B2 which has a short, deeper mark that produces a louder, regular click for about 4 minutes.

Aside from the beginning of A1, there are no other skips, and no sticking.

Generally, this early pressing of the mono audio brings out the rich, modal tones of these great musicians.



THE COVER -   EX :  Please see photos / well-stored with some minor scuffing and light ringwear / a name ("Frank") is written on the middle lower front cover / all of the seams, including the spine, are intact / no other writing, paper loss, paper tears, dirt, or stains.

Included is the original paper inner sleeve (please see photos).     

We have placed both the cover and the LP into separate, protective plastic sleeves.
