Description

MILES DAVIS – Kind of Blue – On Columbia, CS8163. Nice and Minty! This is the original 1959 Stereo issue with the 6 eye label, and the deep groove indentation on both sides just like the deep groove blue Notes.

Here is another great jazz record and in excellent condition. With Miles Davis are John Coltrane on Tenor, Cannonball Adderly on Alto Sax, Wyn Kelly or Bill Evans on Piano, Paul Chambers on Bass, & James Cobb on Drums. The Tracks are:

So What, Freddie Freeloader, Blue in Green, Flamenco Sketches, & All Blues.

The Cover has nice gloss but does show a hint of surface wear. There are also some small paper chips around the edges that are visible in the photo, and some spine stress. The cover is completely intact and the back is perfect except for some fading. I’ll grade it a conservative VG even though it looks much better than that.

The vinyl is heavy and glossy, and near perfect. There are some faint scuffs that play through without any background noise at all. I play tested it just in case and to check it out. This is a powerful jazz album. While it’s subtle in form it’s mighty in substance. The tracks here have a flow that demands they be played in order from start to finish. Man, does this record sound great! Even the label is perfect, with almost no spindle wear. A great album, and in excellent shape. I’m starting the bidding at a mere $25.00 with no reserve.

I ship in record shipping boxes with rigid corners and I separate the record from the jacket to prevent it from damaging the cover during transit.

I prefer Money Orders or Cashiers checks, but will also take PayPal. Sorry, no personal checks. Payment must be received within 7 days after the close of auction.

U.S. BIDDERS - Shipping is $4 for media mail anywhere in the continental U.S. Insurance is optional but highly recommended.

INTERNATIONAL BIDDERS - Shipping will be quoted after the auction closes. I add extra packaging to protect the records so typical postal rates run $15 to Japan, and $14 to Europe without insurance. I will not allow extra time for international bidders. So, if you’re not able to complete the transaction in my time frame, please do not bid.

The winning bidder must notify me within 24 hours with their shipping address unless you are paying by PayPal – NO EXCEPTIONS.

I will be auctioning off dozens of rare and collectible records in the next few weeks. Click on the “ SELLERS OTHER AUCTIONS” link above to see what else is current. I specialize in NM records of all genres and my grading standards are extremely high. Feel free to send me an email with any questions.

Thanks for checking out my auction!

I've gotten several emails asking about the machine etchings in the trail-off area. Both sides read XSM47327-1AA.
