Description
Beautiful original 1959 6-Eye stereo copy of Miles Davis' classic Porgy and Bess LP on Columbia CS-8085. The disc looks almost mint and plays near flawlessly and gorgeously with a touch of very small noise between a couple of tracks, maybe. There is also a pop on the second track that occurs about 5 times and then vanishes. Maybe there is some gunk on the grooves that can be got off, but I have had it professionally cleaned and it is still there. I don't see any marks or anything. Anyhow it is only this one spot where I can find the slightest problem. Otherwise it plays so beautifully it is almost like I am hearing it for the first time. It is so very different from the later represses or the awful sounding CD. If you haven't heard an original stereo pressing you are really in for a treat. And this copy is a simply ideal copy to hear. The cover is also nearly immaculate, with barely any wear at all. Very very slight ringwear noticeable at the bottom, and a little very light cornerwear on the bottom corners. Otherwise stunningly like new! A simply gorgeous copy.
