OK - BACK TO LPs OF VARIOUS STYLES - This is a reasonably priced 1957 COLUMBIA RECORDS U.S. 6-EYE MONO WHITE LABEL PROMO LP titled ''Round About Midnight' containing six historic tracks from jazz trumpet legend Miles Davis and his Quintet, featuring tenor sax giant John Coltrane. It is Columbia Records U.S. catalog number CL 949, white promo '6-eye' labels with red print, deep groove heavy rigid vinyl pressing, thick cardboard cover. The record labels bear two inscriptions also indicating a promo copy, one of which does not appear in my accompanying image.
The back cover reads: 'The Miles Davis Quintet'; liner notes include the phrase: "Dear Old Stockholm is a Swedish folk tune...".
Personnel: Trumpet – Miles Davis / Tenor Saxophone – John Coltrane / Piano – Red Garland / Bass – Paul Chambers / Drums – "Philly Joe" Jones.

Visual condition of record is VG+ with a few surface marks which cannot be felt and do not affect play. Record labels have some tiny brown mildew spots. Condition of cover is VG with a split along the entire length of the top edge and a 2" split in the middle of the bottom edge (I have carefully and neatly repaired these splits by taping from the inside), some contact and ring wear, and some wear and flaking along the edges and on the corners. Cover has no water damage, tears, writing, or stickers. This original 1957 white label promo LP would be a choice addition to any jazz record collection!
