This LP is generally considered one of Miles Davis' most enduring and innovative achievements.

The main highlight is the piece "Concierto de Aranjuez" which is considered by some to be one of the most memorable works to come from popular culture in the 20th century.

Condition

The condition of this LP is rated as:                      Excellent 

Not warped, no deep scratches, no skips or jumps.

No writing on label, label around LP hole in undamaged.

Side 1 - there are no visible surface scratches even under bright light.

Side 2 - there is an area of light scuffing rather than scratches... otherwise there are around 2very light surface scratches.

None of this effects playback - I did not hear any surface noise, pops etc.


Surface noise:   Very clean LP  -  no audible surface noise on any tracks.



The condition of the cover is rated as:                 Very Good Plus  
There is a small 1.5 cm tear in the middle of the spine. Shown in photos.

No tears in edges, no worn or scuffed edges, no significantly worn or scuffed corners.

No wrinkles or fold marks on front or rear surfaces.

There is evidence of price tag removal - no sticky residue but their is some discolouration - front cover top right.

One corner has tiny scuffing others all good. See photos.

Ring wear:   

Very minor scuffing to graphics on front & rear cover. Minor ring wear indentations in cover surface front & rear.

You can see a bit of indentation but it isn't so deep that you can really feel it in the cover surface.

Goldmine LP Rating system

Mint  -  Near Mint  -  Excellent  - Very Good Plus  -  Very good  - Good plus  - Good  -  Poor

Mint:  Absolutely perfect in every way - certainly never played,possibly even still sealed.

Near Mint:  A nearly perfect record; no obvious sign of wear; sleeve has no more than the most minor defects. An LP jacket has no creases, folds, seam splits or any other noticeable similar defect. No cut-out holes; same for any inserts.

Excellent:  Almost near mint with a few minor flaws. LP may have very small amount of light scuffing or very light scratches that can be seen but produce only the slightest rare touch of "in-the-background" surface noise that passes fast, is not overly obtrusive & is not ongoing. The LP jacket has no damage such as tears or rips, pen marks, price tag removal damage or noticeable residue, but it may show light signs of wear from standard use such as light creasing, a subtle mark or two, but nothing that markedly detracts from the original condition of the jacket. If an inner sleeve is issued it will be included & in similar condition. Most collectors will find an LP rated Excellent highly acceptable.

Very Good Plus:  Shows some signs it was played & handled by a previous owner who took good care of it. LP surfaces may show slight signs of wear & may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect playback. Only occasional, brief&relatively unobtrusive surface noise allowed here & there. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are OK. The label may have some ring wear or discoloration, but is should be barely noticeable. The center hole is not damaged. Picture sleeves & LP inner sleeves will have some slight wear, lightly turned-up corners, or a slight seam-split. Jacket my have slight signs of wear & may have a cut corner indicating it was sold at a discount. 

Very Good:  Many of the defects found in a VG+ record are more pronounced in a VG disc. Surface noise is evident upon playing,especially in soft passages and during the song's intro and fade, but will not overpower the music otherwise. Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as will light scratches deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound. Labels may be marred by writing, or have tape or stickers (or their residue) attached. The same will be true of picture sleeves or LP covers. But , it won't have all these problems at the same time.
