MILES DAVIS WITH SONNY ROLLINS (PRLP187)


Deep groove, RVG, original first pressing 10" vinyl LP from 1954 - with a near mint album - this is the "HOLY GRAIL" for serious Miles Davis and original jazz album collectors. The vinyl is NYC archive quality. 


ALBUM - NEAR MINT to MINT 

COVER - GOOD



This RARE (you never find them in this condition) first press album / LP 10" record was produced 72 YEARS ago in 1954 by Prestige Records on their original red & silver label at their first location in New York - 446 W. 50th Street. This also has the RVG (Rudy Van Gelder) engineer mark engraved by hand into the dead wax. 


HOLY GRAIL for jazz collectors - This 72 year old album is still  in high gloss & NEAR MINT CONDITION & plays flawlessly. We listened last night and considered keeping it. It is a NYC ARCHIVE QUALITY disc.



The original cover is considered Good condition. It has a split seam at the top, has some shelf wear on the back and two "manufactured" openings on both sides - we believe this may have been a promotional copy. It also has 187 written in pen on the back of the cover, which we believe was written at the factory. The interior plastic sleeve is old, but we cannot confirm if it was original.

The RVG signature was hand etched and VERY difficult to shoot....I've included several pictures, but it was near impossible to show with my camera. You will also see very few spindle marks - showing that this wasn't played very much.
