LP is in Near Mint condition.
The thick lustrous vinyl is nearly flawless, without  scuffs or scratches of any kind. There are a few miniscule but inaudible sleeve marks.

There are virtually no marks, scuffs, or blemishes of any kind. There is only a tiny amount of shelf wear, as in image. This lp is stored in the original factory inner sleeve.   In 1955, the 29-year old Miles Davis finally formed his first permanent band. He already had had a productive career, being a member of the Charlie Parker Quintet, heading a short-lived nonet that became famous for its "Birth Of The Cool" recordings, and helping to pioneer hard bop with his early 1950s recordings. The cool-toned trumpeter could have continued in the same vein, freelancing and putting together pickup groups, but he wanted a regularly working group full of younger players that could play more challenging and personal music. In 1955 he gradually put together his first classic quintet, utilizing such then-unknown players as John Coltrane, Red Garland, Paul Chambers and Philly Joe Jones. Miles was their first recording, a major step forward for the trumpeter. There are several classic examples of Davis' muted tune on ballads ("There Is No Greater Love" is particularly memorable) and, with "Stablemates," Davis became the first musician to record a Benny Golson composition. This album is also very valuable in offering John Coltrane his first opportunity ever to really stretch out on records.
