Many jazz fans have been waiting eagerly for it, the new Miles Davis box from Mosaic is finally here! It is not only important for collectors, after all, Mosaic always offers unpublished original material in their boxes, but it is also discographically very interesting. Here we cite the information from Mosaic to "Seven Steps: Complete 1963-64 Columbia Recordings": "Going to a museum and watching a Picasso painting is one thing, but looking over the shoulder the other"! This set of plates allows us to look over another master's shoulder: Miles Davis. During his change process in the period from 1963 to 1964. After his masterpieces "Kind Of Blue" (1958) and "Sketches Of Spain" (1960) Davis came in the early 60s in a creative crisis (with health problems), from the he only came back with "Seven Steps To Heaven" (1963), which he recorded with two different occupations and in two locations (LA and NYC). Mosaic documents the development of this time with the other albums "Quiet Nights", "Miles In Europe", "My Funny Valentine", "Four & More", "Miles In Tokyo", "Miles in Berlin" (in mono), " Directions "and" Heard 'Round The World ", the change of the musician Miles Davis is impressively documented here. Since Miles not only personally countered the creative climax, but also found "his" dream team during this time, this Mosaic set is particularly exciting. With Herbie Hancock, Ron Carter, Tony Williams and Wayne Shorter he had the musicians around him with whom he revolutionized the world of jazz. The cast is particularly impressive in the many quiet moments, between all the subtler tones such a fascinating intensity is felt, so much excitement and atmosphere that it simply represents a very special listening pleasure, thanks to the excellent sound quality also acoustically!
