This is the “RVG” etched, Deep Groove, "P” pressing of MILT JACKSON’s “Milt Jackson and Thelonious Monk Quintet” on the "767 Lexington Ave” labels of Blue Note BLP 1509. Musicians include Alto Saxophone – Lou Donaldson, Bass – Al McKibbon, John Simmons, Drums – Art Blakey, Kenny Clarke, Shadow Wilson, Piano – John Lewis, Thelonious Monk.
VINYL plays with consistent very light surface noise (i.e, crackle, static, ?? or ????, relative to the volume of the music/instruments), with pops and ticks. Ensemble sections are clear, dynamic and strong. No skips. Very Good gloss. Handful of non-feelable hairline marks, a couple feelable. (If you can’t feel it, you won’t hear it). The Deep Groove (one side) “767 Lexington Ave” labels are clean with spindle wear. See photos.
COVER is in good shape. Corners worn. Ringwear. Spine and seams in very good condition. “BLUE NOTE RECORD, 767 Lexington Ave., New York 21” back jacket clean. Please see photos.
This LP was play-tested on a high-end audio system. RECORD CLEANED ON ULTRASONIC CLEANER. Record photographed before final clear rinse/dry.
