Description

Something You Got/I Still Love You. Robin Shaw (vocal). Two-sided EMIDISC acetate circa 1968. Good condition, plays through well with no skips or problems. The "A" side has a bluesy pop sound while the flip is a harmony pop track. Both are excellent and will be of interest to collectors of pop-psych/freakbeat.Features John Carter, Micky Keen, Clem Cattini who with Shaw were in The Ministry of Sound.

Info About This Record:You are bidding on a John Carter related acetate 45. Most of the acetates I am listing have not yet been issued on vinyl or CD.John Carter was a member of The Flowerpot Men and The Ivy league and this 45 may or may not include the talents of Robin Shaw (Flowerpot Men, The Ministry of Sound), Micky Keen, Clem Cattini,Geoff Stephens (The Crying Game, New Vaudeville Band, Herman's Hermits), Ken Laws,Neil Landon,Barry Mason,Sally Sunshine,Russ Alquist and Val McKenna.

Origin Of This Acetate:This acetate as well as the other acetates that I am currently selling are from EMI Studios in London,England and were the property of Southern Music Publishers. About 30 of these acetates were found in a New York City office/warehouse circa 2000. I own and am selling all 15 acetates that are in my collection.

Length Of This Auction:This is a seven day auction after which any unsold records will be put back in my collection and not re-auctioned for the considerable future. If you are reading this after this auction has expired you are unfortunately out of luck as I will not sell any of these rare records outside of E-Bay.

Acetae 45s:Record Collector 2012 Rare Record Price Guide defines acetate as "one-off disc by hand in a mastering studio, used for demonstration purposes".To add to this, acetate records deterioate with each play so finding any in Mint, EX, or VG condition is next to non-existance. These discs were usually used by music industry publishers and record companies and played at least once. Even one play of an acetate can lessen its' playing condition. I rate all acetates that I am selling as Good (see below) as scratches and less than hi-fidelity sound are common. All my listed acetates are playable and I do not consider any in BAD condition. None are cracked or broken. "See seller's other listings" to view all the acetates (and other items) I currently have for sale.

Shipping: USA & Canada $7.00 - Rest of World $10.00 Acetate 45s are heavier and more fragile than regular vinyl thereby increasing the quantity of packaging needed. As a direct result postage costs are more expensive.

By placing a bid on this item you have read and agreed to the terms and conditions listed below as regards grading, shipping and returns.

Terms and Conditions:

GRADING:

G = Good: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches.

SHIPPING INFO:

All items are shipped within one business day after payment has been received. Goods are shipped from Canada and although I cannot control the time it will take for the package to reach you, I compensate by making sure the parcel leaves ASAP, sometimes the same day I receive payment or at the most within one business day. All packages are shipped from the main post office in my region (as opposed to a satellite facility) and are properly identified with my return address.

The time span for a parcel from Canada to reach the USA has increased in the past ten years. Regular mail (surface) can take two weeks or longer while air-mail takes seven to ten days to reach the destination.

Frequently, air-mail parcels to the UK and other European countries will arrive quicker than similar parcels going to the USA. International air-mail from Canada will usually reach its final destination within seven to ten days (and at times less than one week) while surface (sea) mail can take anywhere from four to eight weeks.

Please consider the above when leaving feedback on E-Bay. If you paid for slower surface mailing then please remember that the amount of time it took to reach you was out of my control. Also, a parcel mailed from Canada is more expensive than a similar package being shipped from the USA. I do not overcharge for postage and will refund the difference on the rare occasion when I have miscalculated the postage cost. Taking the above in consideration it would be appreciated if you left a five star rating on E-Bay in all categories.

Shipping costs include packaging, postage and applicable Canadian taxes. There are no handling costs. Packaging costs are approximately fifty cents for a CD and about one dollar for an LP or single. The cost for shipping includes the packaging expenses.

RETURNS & REFUNDS:

Acetate records are not returnable.
