This is an original American Test Pressing for Minor Threat's seminal "Out Of Step" 12" EP, 1983, on Dischord Records. A remarkably rare and significant piece of Hardcore / Punk Rock history - this is the FIRST American Test Pressing, NOT the UK Test Pressing, NOT The French Test Pressing ... this it IT: the ORIGINAL US TEST PRESSING!!!
EVEN BETTER, Hardcore fans are familiar with this pressing as the ORIGINAL, COMPLETELY DIFFERENT mix - most noticeable when side B ends with Ian's vocal echo, while the remix, done immediately after this pressing, adds orchestra tuning sounds.
ALL subsequent pressing used the REMIX until 2008 when this, the better, original mix was resurrected. We can't state it enough - this is a piece of Punk Rock history unlike any other.
NOTE ON THE CONDITION:
Serious record dealers on ebay use what is called the Goldmine Record Grading Standard - Goldmine being an influential vinyl record collecting publication. We have graded this Minor Threat "Out Of Step" Test Pressing as VG. Here is a passage from Goldmine's entry on the VG grading:
"For many listeners, a VG record or sleeve will be worth the money. VG records have more obvious flaws than their counterparts in better shape. They lack most of the original gloss found on factory-fresh records. Groove wear is evident on sight, as are light scratches deep enough to feel with a fingernail."
This pressing is in VG condition - This is NOT a Near Mint Record. It has pervasive marks, light scratches, and scuffs. We repeat! It has pervasive marks, light scratches, and scuffs.
It has been professionally cleaned on a VPI machine, and listened to by this owner ONCE - NO skips, NO major audio interruptions, this 12" plays FANTASTICALLY and represents the full breadth of Minor Threat's legendary recording, arguably brighter and more intense than any post-test pressing release of it. We can't state enough how incredible this record sounds
The A-Side Label is the stock NRC (Nashville Record Productions) Label, marked with the 12"s catalog number in pen, "14410". There is glue residue on the label, as well as the remainder (see picture) of a stock copy "Out Of Step" label on it. This may have been done by one of the record's owners many years ago.
The B-Side label is a blank white label (as was the NRP standard). It has glue remainder, suggesting it also had a label pasted on. It has the number "2" written in black pen ink on it.

Packing:
We ship all records in strong cardboard mailers, packed with extra cardboard stiffeners.
All vinyl will be packed in a paper inner sleeve, outside of it's original sleeve to prevent splits.
Grading:
We offer conservative VISUAL grades of all vinyl. This means that unless noted, we do not listen to every record listed. We do offer many years of experience in visual grading. If you are unhappy with our grading, or feel we missed something, please see our returns policy.
SEALED RECORD POLICY:
It is assumed when selling sealed records, that the record is in near mint, "like new" condition. This is not always the case however, as pressing defects, and damage incurred by storage may be present. At the buyers request, we will carefully open and inspect a sealed record before sending, but we cannot accept returns on records that were shipped sealed and then opened.
Returns:

We'd like to further reiterate that this is a STRONG and conservative VG grade, and as you will hear from the recording, this plays EXTREMELELY well.
