Description

.PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question.   OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. Because of that dedication, there should be no need to open a resolution dispute before working with us.  Please keep in mind, we would prefer to continue to provide you the opportunity to acquire the rare music we present each and every week.   Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable.  We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our well over +22,000 positive feedback.   We use an ultrasonic KLAudio machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery.   We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so.

  5. <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
  6. SHARP Original 1969 first pressing in thick gatefold cover and on the old Bizarre Records label...
  7. Featuring Captain Beefheart
  8. Delivering one heck of a gritty performance on the forever amazing "Willie The Pimp"...all 9+ minutes in full glory
  9. Basically just dropping the name `Mothers of Invention' and releasing this first solo album, Frank Zappa shows just who had been boss the whole time, letting the unsuspecting music world get punched it in the teeth with a blast of ZAPPA guitar-jams -- enhanced with melodious melodies..
  10. On `Hot Rats' -- Mr. Zappa surrounds himself with some of the finest musicians in the United States of America, who just happened to also be his best friends, going from cult figure to International Superstar.
  11. In the high brow student world of 1969, if you didn't have the Hot Rats poster, you were considered 'a square.'
  12. The album is an absolute `must have' and Zappa masters great winding extended solos with each song having sharp gripping "humable" tunes that make your fingers twitch, and your feet tap. .
  13. Presented here for your edification (would almost be an insult to label the tracks as just plain old songs) is the wonderful zeitgeist "Peaches En Regalia", where Mr. Zappa on guitar, and multi-instrumentalist Ian Underwood get to flex their musical muscles. These two musicians are the only two to appear on every track.
  14. "Peaches En Regalia" is certainly one of Zappa's most accessible and popular tracks and, almost certainly, one of his best. In an amazing way this album starts, leading us into a treasure trove of groovy tunes. Yes, this was what started the term `Jazz/Rock', but at the time it was just a convenient label for journalists to coin a term. Zappa should not take responsibility for the driveling of critics, who tried to follow his footsteps.
  15. Next up is the infamous "Willie The Pimp" the only vocal track on the album sung by the esteemed Don Van Vliet, better known as `Captain Beefheart', and what lyrics are delivered in this grinding gritty classic:
  16.     "I'm a little pimp with my hair gassed back
Pair of khaki pants with my shoe shined black"
  17. One can hear the gleam in the great Captain's eye, and the guitar solo that follows might take the roof off your head - every time you hear it !
  18. After the delightful "Son of Mr. Green Genes", and "Little Umbrellas", you get the full version of "The Gumbo Variations". This had to be edited for the vinyl release due to time constraints, where the soloists, Zappa guitar, Ian Underwood playing everything, and Sugar Cane Harris on violin, all vie for the spotlight, in holding your attention with every cooking movement
  19. Finally we get "It Must Be A Camel", where the legendary Jen Luc Ponty joins the fray bringing the fire to a fitting climax.
