RARE... MINTY CLEAN....1969 TOP blues collectible in glorious MONO, suitable and preferable for the old howlin' blues legends....

Muddy Waters was part of the second big wave of migration from the Mississippi Delta to Chicago.  His music is not slick and uptown; it's down-home gritty blues that got zapped by electricity and turned into something downright spooky.  This is a fantastic collection of tracks recorded for the Chess brothers between 1948 ("I Can't Be Satisfied", his first hit, recorded when the label was still called Aristocrat) and 1954.  The early sides were recorded with relatively sparse accompaniment from session musicians (including Leonard Chess playing bass drum on "She Moves Me" and "Still a Fool"); the later ones, including the Willie Dixon compositions "I Just Want to Make Love to You", "I'm Ready", and "Hoochie Coochie", were recorded with Muddy's full band, the membership of which reads like a Who's Who of Chicago bluesmen:  Little Walter on harmonica, Jimmy Rogers on second guitar, Otis Spann on piano, Willie Dixon on bass, and Fred Below on drums.  No doubt about it = essential Chicago blues.
