PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Pudding En Gisteren, with English vocals is the second (1972) album by this creative Dutch hippie crew...if you like early Soft Machine and not their overt jazz edge - the mighty Supersister swerve around incorporating magical memorable melodies within their highly adventurous mastery of fuzz organ, fuzz bass, whirling flute & tight complex rhythms. These guys had it ALL going for them with unique styles and amazing skills.
Although Dutch, these guys can out-Canterbury some of the original Canterbury bands! This is their third album and you could describe this as a mix of a superior Soft Machine meets Caravan. Not much guitar here, but the fuzzed up bass and distortion organ can equal a rockin' guitar and the passages with driving rhythms with those instruments in overdrive are just as effective...The lead off track, "Radio" opens up with a wah-wah keyboard sound and is one of their great tracks -- they released it as a single. It's real catchy and delivers great twists and turns when it switches to a more intense Canterbury sound. "Psychopath" is some kind of baroque-prog - a cheerful and insane song that makes madness very attractive with funny lyrics and led by nice harpsichord. "Judy Goes On Holiday" begins with a modified organ imitating a racing car. Then it features great progressive rock moves with awesome whirling flute melody, sometimes doubled on organ. The bassline in this track is good too - complex moves with great drumming throughout. Eventually the opening section gets reprised. Another of the great tracks on this completely solid album!
If the LP isn't already amazing enough, you get the 21-minute title track. A great memorable melody weaves throughout with awesome playing by the group, including plenty of turned on organ leading the way ala early Soft Machine and Egg backed by tight "serious" experimental and unpredictable creativity by way of the fuzzy keyboards, fuzzier bass, whirl flute, and groovy vibraphone...Pudding En Gisteren is brilliant essential Canterbury styled prog album --superb, wild, insane, and all-in-all mad. The vinyl: all smooth and clear, M- plays perfect! clean Polydor labels - a must own!
As mentioned above the cover is mint with no prolems - but - the scarce double side photo/lyrics inner sleeve has had some water contact, and remains okay (!)
