We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. We use an ultrasonic KLAudio machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. - After nearing 50 years to locate a silver foil cover without scrapes, scuffs, wear, is something of remarkable and so hard to find MINT as this copy!
- ...This legendary album is absolutely an excavation site that has been giving samplers great material for more than thirty years plus. This is a collection of cool studio tracks and jams by a group of the who's-who in backing musicians who performed on many well known albums by the "in" bands from the late '60's/early '70s. With that said, The INCREDIBLE BONGO BAND is undeniably fun-as-hell to listen to. Whether just chilling or partying, these grooves never fail.
- The Incredible Bongo Band were a studio project of Canadian A&R man Michael Viner; recording a really engaging rock and surf hipster-styled undergound gems.
- Bongo Rock is a treasure trove of break-beats to be sampled and instantly catchy psychedelic drenched grooves spilling forth that should enliven every party everywhere till the end of time. Check out “Bongolia,” a swerving monster of a tune with flamboyant charts, swift bongo patter, and 10 pounds of funk in a 5-pound bag. It’s a veritable godsend for DJs. “Last Bongo In Belgium” slurs out some lascivious blues rock with a funky swagger and what sounds like Mike Deasy going off on a third-ear-tickling, psychedelic guitar solo. Yes, that surface group called Beastie Boys sampled the drum/bongos break for “Looking Down The Barrel Of A Gun.” Good catch.
Of course The Incredible Bongo Band highlights-to-heaven the psychedelic beast with Iron Butterfly’s gothadelic 1968 hit, “In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida.” And of course it possesses a very sample-worthy bongo/drum break, replete with flange on the latter.
- They’re generous like that, including fuzz guitar and all the cuttings of great things psychedelic sensations!
- The last two tracks—“Raunchy ’73” and “Bongo Rock ’73”—sound like sexed-up, hot-rodding themes full of a risque vibe !
Another highlight of this album is "Apache", a track that melds a driving bongo beat with wild fuzz guitar and Hammond organ riffs to create a track that remains a dance-club classic - even today and a beatheads sample heaven.
- Overall the album has a nice loose feel to it, and there's lot's of open beats everywhere, great hammond work, fuzzed guitar and all the atmospherics.
- One other stand out track is "Last Bongo In Belgium" that has a phased drum/bongo solo in it. Overall a real cult classic that deserves all the great recognition it has received.
Worth picking up - your call as to the worth paying the usual extortionate asking price, especially if you're a DJ.
