Please keep in mind, we would prefer to continue to provide you the opportunity to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our well over +22,000 positive feedback. We use an ultrasonic KLAudio machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! After the disappointing sales of the Velvet Underground's first album, The Velvet Underground & Nico, the band's relationship with Andy Warhol deteriorated. They toured throughout most of 1967. Many of their live performances featured noisy guitars/drumming improvisations that would become key elements in their second LP "White Light/White Heat." The band eventually fired Warhol and parted ways with Nico; ultimately going on to record with their new producer.
The WHITE LIGHT WHITE HEAT LP was recorded in just two days, and with a noticeably different style than The Velvet Underground & Nico. John Cale described White Light/White Heat as "a very rabid record...The first one had some gentility, some beauty. The second one was consciously anti-beauty." Sterling Morrison said, "We were all pulling in the same direction. We may have been dragging each other off a cliff, but we were all definitely going in the same direction. In the White Light/White Heat era, our lives were chaos. That’s what’s reflected in the record."
Nearly every song on the album contains some sort of experimental or avant-garde quality. " The Gift", for example, contains a recital of a short story and a loud instrumental rock song playing simultaneously in two separate stereo channels. " I Heard Her Call My Name" is distinguishable for its distorted guitar solos and prominent use of feedback.
The record's lyrics vary from themes of drug use and sexual innuendo, including the song " Lady Godiva's Operation", about a transsexual's botched lobotomy, and the title track " White Light/White Heat", which describes the use of amphetamine.
On the album's last track, " Sister Ray", Reed tells a tale of debauchery, while the band plays an improvised 17 minute jam around three chords. SIDE ONE

- The cover: rated: MINT = stunning TOP LEVEL still in original shrink wrap, 1968 original, having no-wear as commonly seen on surviving copies, all black cover with the first print with pirate insignia skull and crossbones at far left front cover = normally this cover is highly prone to wear especially after 57 years. Back cover is MINT Definitely having No split seams, no bends, no writing ... and retains original sharp everywhere.
