PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. Because of that dedication, there should be no need to open a resolution dispute before working with us. Please keep in mind, we would prefer to continue to provide you the opportunity to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our well over 18,000 positive feedback. We use an ultrasonic KLAudio machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so. CLEAN and rare ~ Original 1968 first pressing vinyl, a cool find for the very first (of two) album by the OUTLAW BLUES BAND, who decided to call themselves outlaws because of their self-proclaimed unconventional music.
<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
THE OUTLAW BLUES BAND sound is a very progressive blues rock/psych sound for the time that they recorded this album (1968). Their version of "Tobacco Road" was quite unusual. This group was far ahead of its time. They were to make one more album, "Breaking In" in 1969 and that was the end of this way-out of the ordinary group. This is blues to the next level, touches of psychedelic and prog, some evidence in sound to the German 'Krautrock" band Xhol ! There's some farout echo effect, jamming flute, An interesting collectible to say the least...
THE OUTLAW BLUES BAND decided to call themselves outlaws because of their self-proclaimed unconventional music. This is how they referred to rock music of the day-"It’s a 4/4 tempo that’s still rocking in its chair, not as a lady, but as a wench that shook up the historical path of music." They stated in the album liner notes that they created the song "Death Dog Of Doom" in 6/8 tempo, thus making them a progressive band.
As their name suggests, this was a blues-rock outfit from Los Angeles, California. They were one of the several new acts signed by Bob Thiele, an American record producer who worked on countless classic jazz albums and record labels such artists as John Coltrane, Louis Armstrong, Charles Mingus, Dizzy Gillespie, Gato Barbieri, Sonny Rollins and others for the ABC Record label.
Their first album “The Outlaw Blues Band and the People” recorded in 1968; features lots of fluid guitar and you should enjoy this if blues-rock is your thing. Even if it isn’t, you might still like it.
Certainly “Got To Have Peace On My Mind” Other highlights include an interesting reinterpretation of “Tobacco Road”, the jammer “Death Dog of Doom”, “Tried to Be a Good Boy” and “Two ‘Tranes Running” (not a misspelling but homage to John Coltrane). Other highlights include a cool blues tune with the great satirical title is "Tried To Be A Good Boy (But I’m Worse Than A Nazi)," followed by the fast paced "How Bad Love Can Be" and "I’ve Got To Have Peace On My Mind" is very imaginative with interesting sound effects and it extends far beyond the usual blues-rock format where they get a little psychedelic.
