Leslie Cheung / U2 - Red Hill Mining Town 2017 Mix - 12" picture disc mispressing (Island 5739213) EU 2017

U2 - Red Hill Mining Town 2017 Mix, Record Store Day / RSD 12" picture disc. This is a MISPRESS - the disc is supposed to play "Red Hill Mining Town 2017 Mix" on both sides, instead on this pressing side B has the correct track but side A is side A of the 1988 lp "Hot Summer" by Leslie Cheung.

This is a genuine factory error / mispress of the official RSD release. I bought this online a few weeks after the actual Record Store Day -day from a big online seller. Side A has 5 tracks instead of just one (you can clearly see the grooves in the picture of the A side).

As it`s not good for records to keep them in PVC sleeves like the one this one is packaged in I removed it from the sleeve in order to store it in a polylined inner.

I will not put it back in the PVC sleeve hence I have photographed the sleeve and disc separately. The disc will be shipped in a polylined inner outside of the sleeve.

Google helped me to identify the music on Side A. It`s side A of the re-issue of the lp "Hot Summer" by actor and Hong Kong Pop / Cantopop -artist Leslie Cheung originally released in Hong Kong in 1988. HMV Hong Kong lists a picture disc reissue of the lp with a release date of 6 April 2017:

It seems clear that both the U2 and Leslie Cheung picture discs were manufactured at the same pressing plant and the pressing plates for the A-sides of the two discs got mixed up. So the track list for side A most likely is:

Side A of course plays at 33rpm and Side B at 45rpm...

GRADING:
I use Record Collector magazine grading system.
I do not grade the cd / dvd / vhs / minidisc etc jewelboxes / cases unless these are special custom ones or have stickers on them. These kind of cases are generic and can be changed, if you would like to have these graded for any item offered please ask in advance of bidding.

MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition.

EX: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing

VG: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable

G: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
