Description

Up for auction is an ultra rare copy of the Mississippi John Hurt album Today! originally released in the U.S. on Vanguard Records (VS 9220) in 1966.

-Guaranteed original pressing
-Correct gray Vanguard labels
-Ridged labels
-Mono pressing
-8-66 pressing date in run-out matrix
-Still in opened factory shrink wrap
-Original Vanguard inner sleeve
-Original paste-down cover
-No UPC/bar code on cover

Condition:
Cover is beautiful, still protected by original opened shrink wrap.  No significant signs of wear or age.  Former owner's name on back left edge.  Shrink has a closed tear on back.  Any wear you see in the photos is rubbing on the shrink wrap, not on the cover itself.  Grade: Near Mint Minus (NM), beautiful example!

Vinyl is in great condition, still has its original glossy shine.  No obvious scratches or scuffs, just a couple faint tiny marks, and some faint, superficial signs of having been taken out of paper inner sleeve a couple  times.  Labels are clean, no marks around spindle holes, indicating little previous play.

When played in the recommended Mono Mode, the sound quality is excellent.  Maybe played only once or twice previously, but handled with great care.  Grade: Excellent (EX).
