Description
[Item Description] Top rare early 1st stamper
Maks, baritone
Max, according to Russian collectors was th M.D. of the Gram Co in St Petersburg - Rodkinson, who, apparently, was a well known and respected amateur singer. The common view in the west has been that the name Max was an abbreviation or pseudonym for Maksakov, a dramatic baritone who sang mainly in Moscow. Comparson of the voices of Max and Maksakov reveals that these are different singers.
