London based sister and brother duo The Molotovs' debut album comes after a rollicking build up where they've shared stages with the likes of The Libertines and Sex Pistols. Their sound leans on the best of The Jam's back catalogue and they appropriate mod style with a meticulous eye for detail - it's clear from just looking at them that they're in a band. In addition to older influences, they also draw on more 00s garage rock revivalism with The Cribs a likely influence. Of the singles 'Today's Gunna Be Our Day' is a high-energy, incredibly catchy, and anthemic indie rock song. It's got a galvanizing message, too, that's likely going to help keep rock n' roll ticking into the second quarter of this century: "It's an anti-complacency song," says the band's lead singer Mathew Cartlidge. "A call to arms for my generation to keep the faith and reject apathy, recognising that it's our time and our turn to make it better. If anything, it's about the power of youth."
