MONEY MUSIC the BEST 60s comp from era! CA Quintet Electras Calico Wall Bedlam 4

August LP-100, "Money Music:  The Hits Of Mid-America."  Not to be confused with the 2 Soma label "Big Hits Of Mid-America" albums, this album was issued in late 1967 in an effort to duplicate the huge success of those albums, and is no doubt better, rarer, more psych-heavy, and more sought-after than them.  It consists of 45s drawn from a variety of labels, with a combined value of well over $2000 if you were to somehow find them all!  While only 1000 copies were pressed, roughly half of them allegedly ended up at the dump  (I know, I know, EVERY psych dealer in the damn WORLD says this kind of thing,  but in this case, I got it straight from the mouth of the LP's producer!), and I have had 5X as many "Trip Thru Hell"s pass through my hands!

This copy is a great score for someone who doesn't want to pay the $500+ a mint-ish copy generally fetches, but wants a strong-player nevertheless.  The record is a strong VG, playing much better than that, but definitely looking on the weaker side of VG, with light lines all over the wax.  This record is one that, like the Litter's first album, takes the proverbial beating but plays great!  The cover we will grade VG-.  The front cover presents nicely, with some staining along the bottom and right portion of the cover that blends in rather well with the darker-hued artwork.  The back cover, though, has an ugly black magic marker scribbling out a name and date underneath it (still visible under a bright light).  There is also some staining along the pocket and bottom, pen marks next to 7 of the 12 songs, and seam wear, particularly on the top and bottom seams, with a 1 3/4" split at the bottom pocket.  All things considered, though, this is still a very decent copy for somebody out there!

Side One:  "Hey Joe" (Stillroven), "Mickey's Monkey" (CA Quintet), "Sweetest Girl In The World" (Underbeats), "Faces" (TC Atlantic), "Heat Wave" (Hot Half Dozen), & "Flight Reaction" (Calico Wall).  Side Two:  "Feel So Fine" (Castaways), "Blow To My Soul" (CA Quintet, although the typo humorously lists the CIA Quintet), "Dirty Old Man (Electras), "Without Love" (Seraphic Street Sound), "Cool Breeze" (H.T. Three) & "Hydrogen Atom" (Bedlam Four).  In total, there are 5 stone cold killers (Stillroven, TC Atlantic, Electras, Calico Wall, Bedlam Four), 5 good-to-excellent frat rockers (CA Quintet X2, Hot Half Dozen, Castaways, and Underbeats), and only 2 clinkers (HT Three and Seraphic Street Sound).  That's a damn high batting average for a 60's-issued comp, and a whole lotta experts consider this THE best comp of its kind!

No reserve, and a low minimum bid.  Thanks for reading!
