MONO 1st THE VELVET UNDERGROUND & NICO Verve V-5008 U.S. East Coast pressing as indicated by the "Side 1 and Side 2" instead of "Side A and B", Pressed in Bloomfield New Jersey. Fully play tested and enjoyed, this copy rocks hard, and nice full sound, even better than most East Coast mono pressing I've heard, rich full soundscape as opposed to a more hollow sound with vocals that have sibilant issues with clipping.
VINYL graded VG with light haitlines that cause background crackle that does not overpower the music. This is VERY close to VG+ for sound. Pressing the "Mono" button on your amplifier will get you there for sure, there is some background crackle, but not major. "Heroin" is a song with a lot of quiet segment, but the crackle on this copy does is not overpowering t the song, a very nice loud and full MONO copy!!
COVER graded VG+ with FULL BANANA almost unheard of with a first pressing of this album. There is an indentation across the front sleeve about 6" long that looks a bit like a faint razor blade mark on the white section of the cover, and when it crosses the banana sticker there is a slight crease in the sticker. The stem of the banana was removed at one time, and there is a "split" at the stem, but still intact.
No splits, solid seams and spine, a bit of yellowing but lots of gloss and bright whites. Some yellowing in the inner gatefold, super thick solid U.S. style cardboard. The lawsuit sticker looke great, some ring wear evident (see photos).
