Description
MONO Moby Grape 1st U.S. Pressing COLUMBIA CL 2698. Released in 1967 featuring Skip Spence on guitar and vocals.
Does not include poster. First pressing as indicated by the middle finger of drummer Don Stevenson on the cover.
VINYL in VG+ with light hairlines and scuffs. Plays strong VG/VG+, nice sound, occasional pop, very light background crackle, nice listen. Santa Maria pressing plant information as indicated by the upside down "S". Initials in pen on both sides ( I believe, it's hard to see).
COVER in VG with rubbing, corner damage, rubbing on top seam and spine, rubbing and chipping on bottom seam, all seams and spine intact. Spine is readable despite the rubbing. Some paper loss on front cover on washboard and near Bob Mosley.
Notes:
This is the original issue (1st pressing) with Don Stevenson ''giving the finger" on the front sleeve, and on the poster of the front sleeve which is included inside.
Later issues do not have the offending finger showing on the sleeve or poster.
An "S" etched in the run-out areas, denotes a pressing by Columbia Records Pressing Plant Santa Maria in Las Angeles.
Some stereo LPs matching the labels of this version were packaged in a sleeve originally intended for the mono version, adapted with a corrective sticker covering the mono cat. #.
