PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Exceedingly hard to find 1971 =original= world-class "heavy-psych" from the Krautrock underbelly, Dies Irae provides an out of touch with reality formulated attack... highly recommended for what it is:::
Playing locally in and around clubs in southern Germany, Switzerland and France since 1968 the mighty Dies Irae, consisting of Rainer Wahlman, lead vocals, Harald Thoma, guitars/vocals, Joachim Shiff, bass and Andreas Cornelius on drums were finally discovered by the now long defunct record label PILZ in early 1971. They were were a progressive psychedelic/blues freak band with a darker side and who released just one LP before splitting up in 1972 as a result of musical differences.
Not to be confused by several metal bands which have used the name Dies Irae which literally translates to Day Of Wrath. The original Dies Irae has been often compared to Black Sabbath's early sound; their LP is a hallucinatory affair of tight heaviness in acid-blues rock format. Driven by wicked mind-bending guitar and with lyrical references to the occult, far more trippier and out-there. Extended psychedelic electronic collages and free form jams are often included on their album.
The band created some waves in the summer of 1971 when most German radio stations refused to play anything off this album because of controversial LSD induced lyrics with sacrilegious connotations. A whacked-out, off the deep end formula that runs through all tracks on both sides...
Overall the album sits in between the first scorpions "Lonesome Crow" and Black Sabbaths first self titled Lp along with an extreme dose of sinister & drug atmospherics.
Plenty of stoned vapors from the krautrock galaxy. The heavy jamming guitar sessions represent a real musical attraction, constantly propulsive with space rock effects. "Lucifer" is a heavy rock "trip", featuring an aggressive blast of rhythmical guitars, stoned voices. " Salve Oimel" is exclusively made of drug-oriented recitations. "Another Room" goes back to an intense spaced free sounding rock, largely made of echoing groovy guitars, a lot of the year 1971 "heaviness". Harmagedon Dragonlove" is vicious! "Trip" is an amazing, almost "ethereal" acid rock composition, exploding within the 'groove-zone.' "Tired" is a hard boogie-rock turn-on." Witches Meeting" dominated by inspired guitars, flips out the light switch and thrusts the listener on a wild roller coaster ride. "Red Lebanese" (an ode to hallucinogenic pot of the day) delivers off the wall vibes in surreal fun-house overtones. You want H-E-A-V-Y? Dies Irae will give you HEAVY - a punishing impact of psych-out which will surely ravish fans of the "Krautrock" scene !
