Artist: BUDDY HOLLY AND THE THREE TUNES.
Label grade: NM-...tiny bit of loss of silver paint at the bottom of the "D" on the word DECCA...otherwise pristine labels!
Vinyl grade: NEAR MINT...a few tiny rub marks and very, very light surface scratches that DO NOT affect the sound!
Sound grade: NEAR MINT...sensational sound that you will love!
Notes: this is a super clean monster rare Rockabilly 45 by the legendary Buddy Holly, which was recorded prior to Buddy recording as Buddy Holly and the Crickets. Buddy Holly wrote the Rockabilly tune titled TING-A-LING! Funny thing is that the highly collectible Rockabilly tune titled TING-A-LING was apparently the B side to this rare 45, because the runoff on TING-A-LING has a stamped matrix number of 45 10044 5, and the runoff on GIRL ON MY MIND has a stamped matrix number of 45 10043 4...go figure! But then again, one shouldn't be surprised by this, because during the late 1950's the DECCA Records folks were branching out into a whole new genre of music with new artists like Buddy Holly and the Three Tunes, and the A side GIRL ON MY MIND is a slow tune which was more in line with the style of music that they were pushing at the time. This 45 has not been played more than a few times, and the crystal clear sound is guaranteed to blow you away...an exceptional copy of a rare treasure! Collectors of such know exactly what they are looking at...enough said.
