Limited vinyl pressing (500 only!) re-issue of a hugely rare (99 copies!) '60s jazz album, presented here by the collectible Trunk Records!
A wonderful opportunity to own this rare SEALED recording in pristine condition!
While a student at University College London, Michael Garrick formed his first quartet, featuring vibraphonist Peter Shade but, aside from some lessons
at the Ivor Mairants School of Dance Music, he was an entirely self-taught musician. After graduating with a B.A. in English Literature, he became director
of Poetry & Jazz In Concert, a roadshow devised by poet and publisher Jeremy Robson, and involved writers as diverse as Laurie Lee, Adrian Mitchell,
Vernon Scannell, Spike Milligan, Dannie Abse and John Smith. At this time his quintet included Joe HGarriott and Shake Keane, but came to special
prominence initially as pianist with the Don Rendell-Ian Carr quintet from 1965 to 1969, and led his own sextet from 1966.
This album was originally recorded in the early '60s and the personnel are: Michael Garrick (piano), Colin Barnes (drums) and Dave Green (bass).
As no masters exist for this album, the Trunk recording was carefully mastered from one of the original 99 10"!
Sleeve: A great lunar image on the front and in-depth sleeve notes from Jonny Trunk and Michael Garrick on the reverse. Apart from a very minor bump
at the top-right corner, as viewed from the front, the sleeve is free from wear or damage! The original shrinkwrap is fully intact with no splits! Superb!

This is just one item from my own extensive and eclectic personal collection of music and related bits and pieces which I will be listing over the next few months, or so.
