MORGAN (Fisher) Nova Solis LP top U.K. Prog Rock | Japan press w/obi

The superb Nova Solis was recorded by the little known UK progressive rock band Morgan, led by the amazing keyboardist Morgan Fisher.  The group featured former members of The Love Affair and Mott the Hoople, and also included vocalist Tim Staffel, who played in the pre-Queen group Smile with Brian May & Roger Taylor.  Nova Solis actually contains a brilliant spacey version of the Smile track 'Earth'. Some say that Tim Staffel's powerful tenor voice resembles that of Freddie Mercury and when listening to his excellent vocals on this album you can hear for yourself why.  This keyboard-driven concept album is a mixture of beautiful acoustic tunes with aggressive synths over a powerful rhythm section.  It shows power and versatility from beginning to end and will not disappoint the fan of progressive rock music. Originally released in 1972, this reissue was released in Japan on Edison/RCA in 1987.  It comes with the obi (paper band) and an insert.  The cover is in M-- and the record is in M- condition.  (For more info on my grading system, click on the “me” icon above.)  For other prog rock and related LPs (including other LPs by Morgan), see my other listings.
