Description
Morse Code
" La Marche des Hommes "
Capitol ST-70.038, 1975 original issue (Canada)
1st pressing (run-off matrix #'s: S1 70.038)
Formed in Montreal in 1969, Morse Code released 2 obscure & highly coveted psych-rock albums for RCA as "Morse Code Transmission" before morphing into a solid progressive rock outfit in the 70's (with their band name shortened to just “Morse Code”).
La Marche des Hommes, their first album as the revamped Morse Code, is simply one of the best prog albums to come out of Québec in the 70's.
The lyrics are in French but the mostly-instrumental pieces are firmly anchored to the British progressive rock sound of Yes, King Crimson, ELP and early Genesis....yet they remain uniquely Quebec-flavoured..........a true gem !.
Christian Simard (piano, organ, melotron, synths, vocals), Michel Vallée (bass, vocals), Daniel Lemay (guitars electric/acoustic, flute, vocals), Raymond Roy (drums, bongos, percussion), Peter Tessier (production, engineering)
