RCA  VPS-6092, 1972 original issue Double LP (Canada)

 

Formed in Montreal in 1969 and originally known as Les Maitres, guitarist Michel Vallee and drummer Raymond Roy changed their name to Morse Code Transmission in the early '70s, adding vocalist-organist Christian Simard and guitarist Jocelyn Julien.

 

The band released 2 obscure and now highly coveted prog-psych-rock albums for RCA as "Morse Code Transmission",  before evolving into a solid Symphonic Prog and progressive pop outfit in the 70's (with their name then shortened to just “Morse Code”).

 

Featured in "The Acid Archives", Hans Pokora's "Record Collector Dreams", ProgArchives  as well as Vernon Joynson's "Dreams Fantasies & Nightmares",  the double LP "Transmission II" is a solid organ-driven progressive psych-rock certainly that's heavier and lengthier than their debut, reminiscent of bands like "Frumpy".
