Up for auction is an out of print (OOP) Mosaic box set (#152) of The Complete CBS Recordings Of Eddie Condon & His All Stars on 7 LPs ranging from 1953 to 1962.

The set is numbered 4830 out of a limited edition of 5000.

The records are absolutely unblemished and play flawlessly. Each is in its original sleeve.

The box shows slight shelf wear. The book, while complete and tear free, has the original owners inscription inside the cover and handwritten numbering in the discography section…apparently some sort of self cataloging system. The book also has what looks to be water staining along the outside edges (viewable in the picture) Again, the book is complete, tight and readable in every way.

The owner also left the original Mosaic receipt (purchased in 2002) and other inserts listing box sets that were dwindling in number at that time.

I have archived the tracks into digital files using a Rek-O-Kut CVS model restoration turntable deck. Where as I usually have to use noise reduction software to limit pops and crackles after transferring records, none whatsoever was needed for these LPs.

If the winning bidder happens not to have a turntable to play these on, I can include a disc of these transfers.

Producer's note:

There are several fleeting drop-outs sprinkled throughout this set which are the result of tape deterioration. They are in all cases quite minor. The beginning of "How Come You Do Me Like You Do" (B) and "At The Jazz Band Ball" (E) and the ending of "I Can't Believe That You're In Love With Me" (B) have an incorrectable problem, which causes the cymbals to sound out of phase.

Sessions K, N & O are mixed from the original three-track masters. Because of the unusual way in which the instruments were assigned to each of the three tracks, session N is mixed with a very small stereo spread. The three-track master of "St. James Infirmary" contains a high-pitched oscillation tone, so the mono master was used. Although sessions L & M were also recorded on three-track tapes, no analog source other than mono can be found. It is those mono analog sources that appear here. Only a mono master source exists for the alternate take of "Tiger Rag".
