Mosaic MR4-101: The Complete Blue Note Recordings Of Thelonius Monk 1947-52. This long-deleted box set of 4 LPs brought together all of the recordings made by Monk for the legendary NYC label. Some of these titles originally came out on 78rpm issues and were later reissued on LP. However, Mosaic has unearthed many previously unissued titles too. Among the great pioneers of modern jazz also featued on these sides are IDREES SULIEMAN, SAHIB SHIBAB, ART BLAKEY, MILT JACKSON, LUCKY THOMPSON, LOU DONALDSON, KENNY DORHAM and MAX ROACH. Also contained in the box is the usual high quality booklet including a full discography and high-resolution photographs. The condition of the discs is "as new" (N-). The box itself is also as new apart from some slight damage to the top left-hand corner and one of the bottom seams.
