Description

MOSAIC MR4-106  TINA BROOKS QUINTET  The Complete Blue Note

A long-deleted 4LP box set, covering the few recordings made by this underrated tenor sax player on Blue Note 1958-61. Despite being relatively unknown, he was dropped in the deep end with very fast company indeed. Among the sidemen here are: Lee Morgan/Freddie Hubbard/Johnny Coles (tp); and Sonny Clark/Duke Jordan/Kenny Drew (p). This has the usual luxury booklet with high-definition photographs, full track listings and discographical details. (More information on request.)

DESCRIPTION/CONDITION : The discs are E (VG+), with some light general groove wear, visible under a bright 'grading' light. This has little affect on the playing. The box is also E (VG+), with some surface rubbing/scratching and edge rubbing. The latter has led to some incipient splitting near the left hand corner of the top seam of the front part of the box.
