On offer is a very rare 1969 first UK pressing of 'Mothermania' by The Mothers of Invention on the Verve label. This compilation contains 6 remixes not found on any of the bands original albums and features the original Mothers of Invention - what many fans rate (including myself) as the bands best line up.
This copy is especially rare because it has a 'Standard Distributed by Polydor Records' sticker on the reverse of the sleeve covering the original SVLP 9239 printed on the sleeve with the polydor catlogue no 2352 017 which was later used for the select reissue. I must stress This is NOT the later Polydor re-issue of 1970 but the original 1969 pressing. The original laminated flipback sleeve has 'Printed by Garrod & Lofthouse' with the original SLVP 9239 catalogue no on bottom flap. The labels have ' Sold in the UK subject to resale price conditions, see price lists' Printed on both sides and are original UK Verve labels.
In addition to this this record is in incrediible condition - these rare Mothers compilations rarely turn up in anywhere near decent shape - this example is outstanding and with the rare sticker almost unique. The vinyl is in MINT MINUS CONDITION!!!! - The cover has rich strong colours with no splits or tears.
Sleeve Garrard & Lofthouse. Laminated sleeve in Ex Minus Condition! Strong colour, lovely high gloss. A few small creases to spine - some corner rub.Opening edges sharp.Slight tear to surface of sticker ( see photo). Some light indentations to front cover - not detrimental. Slight shrinkage of laminate- again not detrimental to overall excellent appearance.All text clear and undamaged on spine. Really exceptional condition all round!!!!
Labels Near Mint - no spindle marks - no defects of any kind!!- pristine!! - impossible to find like this!!!!!
Vinyl Mint Minus Condition!!! Perfectly flat and still with it's original 'just pressed' sheen. A few light paper scuffs only!!
Sound Light surface noise on run ins and run outs - other than strong clear sound throughout!!!
Liner Excellent Condition original plain paper inner liner has a few light creases.
A definite must have for any serious Frank Zappa / Mothers collector
especially with the Polydor sticker.
I cannot stress enough what an immense rarity this record is!!!!
A really rare stunning example that will most definitely not disappoint!!!!
