DEBUT ALBUM from this fantastic power trio led by super guitarist Leslie West and produced by Felix Pappalardi. Its all here; swaves of cut 'n thrust guitar rock, chunky riffs, long extended jams and beautiful melodies from a team of men that had carved out a niche in heavy blues rock to rival the British lead of Zeppelin, Free and Cream. Indeed, if there was one band that Mountain eluogised then it was certainly the latter - bassist Felix Pappalardi had even produced a couple of Cream albums. Great titles: 'Mississippi Queen', 'Theme For An Imaginary Western', 'Silver Paper', 'For Yasgur's Farm' and, my personal favourite, 'Sitting On A Rainbow'. No wonder the public went mental with excitement when this album came crashing out of the starting gate. It's like a record recorded by a trio of action heroes - thick and juicy riffs, sreaming yet controlled solos, battering rhythm work and some of the best songs that have ever been composed.
This auction is part of a fantastic collection of seventies rock which I was lucky enough to acquire. Most of these records were stored with the utmost care and sparsely played. Some were possibly never played or may have been for just a handful of times.

Vinyl: Superb clean and shiny condition - I would say unplayed. No signs of use and no spindle marks. Grades as MINT!
Cover: Issued in a beautifully illustrated gatefold cover. Again, virtually no signs of use. Sharp corners, no dings, no bends, no ring wear, no split seams and no creases. Just a hint of storage wear visible under strong light - nothing to worry about. Spine is stiff, straight and uncrushed. Beautiful and impossible to find like this 44 years after release. Grades as top MINT-!
