Mozarts Serenade KV 525 ist umrankt von Rätseln und Popularität. Jeder kennt und schätzt zumindest das energische Fanfarenthema des Anfangs, aber niemand weiß, zu welchem Anlass das Stück komponiert wurde und wo der fünfte Satz geblieben ist, den der Salzburger Meister komponiert haben soll. Die Schallplattenkritik hat sich aus zweierlei Gründen in Zurückhaltung geübt. Zum einen wurde der Markt mit Aufnahmen überschwemmt, zum anderen gab es auch nicht viel zu berichten über Billig-Produktionen, die aus den Abgründen von Drogerie- und Supermarkt-Wühltischen hervorquollen.
Die aktuelle Einspielung des audiophilen Tacet-Labels bringt endlich wieder Licht in das dunkle Kapitel um die Nachtmusik. Die polnische Kammerphilharmonie hat sich in jüngster Zeit als willkommener Gast auf internationalen Bühnen zahlreiche Meriten erspielt und widmet sich dem Standardwerk mit emotionaler Frische. Rajski präsentiert bei flotten Tempi einen ungekünstelten und frei fließenden Mozart. So gelingt der Spagat zwischen der Leichtigkeit einer sprudelnden Melodik und ausgefeilter Satztechnik, die das reife Schaffen bezeichnet. Wie nicht anders zu erwarten sorgt die transistorfreie Aufnahmetechnik aus dem Hause Tacet für die adäquate Wiedergabe einer künstlerischen Höchstleistung.

Mozart's highly popular Serenade K. 525 is veiled in mystery. Everyone knows and loves the driving fanfare theme of its beginning, but no one knows for which occasion the work was composed nor what has happened to its fifth movement, which the Salzburg maestro is supposed to have written. Record critics have been cautious for two reasons. The first is that the market has been swamped with recordings, and the second is that there is not a great deal to report about cheap productions which can be bought at supermarkets and discount stores.
At long last, the present recording on the audiophile Tacet label brings light into the darkness surrounding this Night Music. The Polish Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra performs standard works with an emotional freshness and over the years has deservedly become a welcome guest at concert venues all over the globe. Wojciech Rajski's Mozart is unaffected and flows freely with lively tempi. He easily deals with the disparity between the lightness of this effervescent music and its elaborate compositional technique which is characteristic for this mature work. It goes without saying that Tacet's tube-only recording technique guarantees a more than adequate reproduction of this top artistic performance.
