Description

The Complete Commodore Jazz Recordings, Volume III, Mosaic Records MR20-134. This is an early release on the now-prestigious Mosaic Records imprint, and long out of print. This set is Mosaic Records in full swing, showing their exceptional taste and quality.

This is an edition limited to 2500 albums, though this set (and the other two volumes of Commodore recordings, also up for auction) is sealed and has never been opened, so I can't tell you the individual number. I bought all three volumes of the Complete Commodore Jazz Recordings from a reputable dealer on eBay several years ago, and though I've listened to many of the sides at a library (they are simply awesome), this set has never been played. Condition of the set is sealed, in mint condition. Having never opened the set, not even to take it out of the plastic, I can only trust that everything is in perfect condition, which I'm sure it is. This massive 20 record set is simply stunning, and all the Commodore recordings are spectacular, featuring the greats from the swing era, including Lester Young, Billie Holiday, Coleman Hawkins, Chu Berry, and many, many others. A great set for any collector, especially one who, like myself, collects Mosaic sets but doesn't play them.
