The Complete Blue Note Recordings of the Tina Brooks Quintets, Mosaic Records MR4-106. This was the sixth release on the now-prestigious Mosaic Records imprint, long out of print. This set shows the dedication Mosaic lavished on their products from the very beginning.
This is number 3347 of an edition limited to 7500 albums. Condition of the set overall is excellent, especially considering its age. Box is tight and in excellent condition, the binding is completely intact, only slight separation on the back at the middle of the opening in the half holding the records. It appears to have been caused by slight shifting of the records, a common happening, and is very minor. Booklet is complete and intact, with four essays and the complete discography of Tina Brooks. All four records are in immaculate, NM condition, looking never played. A great set for any collector, especially one who, like myself, collects Mosaic sets but doesn't play them.
Included as a bonus in this auction is Mosaic Records Brochure Number 7, from Spring/Summer 1990. Back then the brochures were much more informative than now, and actually reads more like a magazine than a catalogue. In perfect condition, with a small semi-circular tear in front cover where the seal ripped off that bit of paper (still attached on seal).
