MTHUNZINI GIRLS Ntombi Zodwa/Ngikhala Ngiya Baleka South African Smanje Manje SJM6 1967 E+ (I've super-glued a small rim bite back into place - there are a couple of clicks in the run-in grooves before the music starts.) The so-called 'Mthunzini Girls' were originally just another recording psuedonym used for the Mahotella Queens but by the time this was recorded, they had evolved into a more or less separate group led by Julia Yende. Mahlathini (Julia's long-time lover) leads on 'Ngikhala Ngiya Baleka' (which he subsequently re-recorded as a solo with West Nkosi.)
