MUDDY WATERS 1957 Best Of Muddy Waters CHESS LP 1427 Original Press BLANK BACK
Up for your consideration is this very scarce 1957 copy of "The Best Of Muddy Waters" by Muddy Waters. This was released on the Chess label as LP-1427. Features twelve early cuts on his debut LP. The back cover is blank. I understand only a few were released this way. I purchased this new in about 1958. I had this listed a few weeks ago for substantially more money. Someone requested that I test play it. I did. It has a skip on one track, but otherwise is fine. Since I haven't played this in decades, I had forgotten about it. I do remember it doing that when I bought it. I'm relisting it at a much lower price. Perhaps the skip can be repaired. I'm not about to try.
The record is visually graded a strong VG, but does have some really light skate marks. Nothing that should really affect playing. The labels are clean with some spindle marks. The cover is a VG, with only minimal corner bumping and a bit of wrinkle to the top front. The seams and spine are tight. The inner sleeve is generic paper and thought to be origional. Overall, a really nice copy of a fairly rare LP. I tend to grade conservatively. You won't be disappointed.
So, if this hard to find early LP will fill a gap in that blues collection of yours, why not toss in a bid? Who knows when (or if) another copy will surface. Offered at a reasonable open and NO RESERVE!!
Before you bid, please read the fine print.
Bid with confidence that your record will be carefully packed and promptly shipped. All opened LP's are cleaned on a "Nitty Gritty" record cleaning machine and inserted into new 3mm. outer sleeves. The records are shipped in new anti-static inner sleeves. They are shipped in designated record shipping cartons with cardboard reinforcement inserts.
I try to describe items as honestly and accurately as possible. I encourage questions, but please ask them prior to biding. It will help avoid confusion.
California buyers will be charged 8.00% sales tax unless a signed California resale certificateis provided prior to shipping. Sorry, but just a resale number won't do.
I charge only actual shipping costs plus a small "handling fee". EBay has a gag order on us when discussing insurance, so the "handling fee" covers the cost of insurance and delivery confirmation where applicable, as well as any additional fees imposed on shipping charges. Sorry!
I will contact the winner after the auction with exact shipping costs. Please wait for the invoice!
If your feedback is less than 5, please contact me prior to bidding or your bid may be cancelled at my descretion.
International buyers please check for exact shipping costs. Our postal department recently increased the fees on first class international shipping dramatically. I'm not sure that eBay shipping quotes are accurate. Your order is subject to cancellation if you do not get a proper quote first, as I will not make up the difference.
International buyers please note: Purchaser is responsible for all fees and tariffs imposed on item purchased. I always disclose on customs forms..Always!
Well, that's out of the way. Now, let's have some fun!!
Thanks for looking...and Good Luck!!
