Folk Singer is an album by Muddy Waters. Waters plays acoustic guitar, backed by Willie Dixon on string bass, Clifton James on drums, and Buddy Guy on acoustic guitar. While this is the only acoustic record in the long discography of Muddy Waters it can be also described as the first "unplugged album" in the history of modern music.
In 2003, the album was ranked number 280 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.
