Description
MUDDY WATERS – FOLK SINGER – Chess Black Label LP-1483 (Mono). Disc is VG (scuffs, surface wear – THIS LP HAS BEEN CLEANED ON A VPI PROFESSIONAL RECORD CLEANING MACHINE – Playback on this Deep Groove ‘60s pressing is VG+ – light surface noise with occasional pops and clicks – original recorded signal is strong and dynamic); Labels are Near Mint Minus (name “Morton” written with flair pen on Side 2); Sleeve is VG/VG+ overall (surface and edge wear; name “Morton” written on rear sleeve (1 & ½ x ¼ inch); no seam splits).
First issued in 1964, this is an Original Chess Black Label, Monophonic pressing. Muddy, guitar and vocals, is accompanied by Buddy Guy, guitar; Willie Dixon, bass; and Clifton James, drums. Recorded in September of 1963, titles are: My Home Is In The Delta; Long Distance; My Captain; Good Morning School Girl; You Gonna Need My Help; Cold Weather Blues; Big Leg Woman; Country Boy; and Feel Like Going Home. Performances are very much in the acoustic, “unplugged” vein, not the typical Chicago Electric Blues style more common to Waters’ music. Album times out at 34:24.
All vinyl records from VinylKing46 (eBay’s ORIGINAL VINYLKING) are pre-cleaned and inserted into paper inner sleeves before mailing to Buyer (unless factory sealed). Discs are packaged separately from LP sleeve to protect against seam splitting (unless factory sealed). LP jackets are inserted into mylar outer sleeves and albums are shipped in LP-specific boxes and packed with bubble wrap.
I grade conservatively and by Goldmine standards.
