Description

Mulatu Astatke and his Ethiopian Quintet - "Afro-Latin Soul" (Worthy Records, W-1014, 1966)

The ORIGINAL (Worthy reissued the record in 2005, this is the 1966 original) and still unsurpassed "Afro-Latin Soul" with the unique and proper deadwax etchings: W-1014-A/W-1014-B. A VG+ to Ex LP in a VG+ sleeve. The labels are bright and undamaged. Each side has two to three hairlines, light paper scuff, and a few small (non-sounding) pressing dimples. The gloss is high and the records are very presentable. The records were aurally graded: some very light and passing surface static heard on side 1; some light and passing surface static on side 2. The surface static was never interfering and was apparent, in large part, because I was closely listening for it (a casual listen would have caught some, missed much - it's that quiet). Nothing else found at all: no skips, no pops, no indecent noise of any sort. So, VG+ to Ex for the record seems a very solid, even conservative, grade. The sleeve has light shadow at the back, is quite clean, quite solid, and has small nicks to the corners. VG+ without question, if not better. All these aspects have been captured in the pictures. We welcome serious questions, but to anticipate: the record is being auctioned and will not be pulled for BIN offers. Thank you for looking.
