Description
Artist: Thelonious Monk and Gerry Mulligan
Title: “Mulligan Meets Monk”
Label: RIVERSIDE. Monaural pressing on medium thick vinyl. Label is “large” blue with silver text, with deep groove. Catalog number is RLP 12-247.
Year: 1957 session, early 60s pressing.
Personnel: Gerry Mulligan – baritone sax; Tholonious Monk – piano; Wilbur Ware – bass; Shadow Wilson – drums.
Note: This album comes from an extremely well cared-for jazz collection where the original owner cherished his albums, played them once or twice at most, and stored them under optimal conditions. There will be some nice opportunities for the collector who insists on mint condition.
Condition:
DISC: Vinyl is gorgeous NEAR MINT, has been played a very small number of times, most likely once or twice, and handled with care. Plays flawlessly with superb fidelity. Labels are clean and pristine. (Note: The b-side label has a small side turned up (see photo) which occurred in the factory. I did not attempt to fix this slight cosmetic flaw).
JACKET: NEAR MINT. Nice bright artwork, clean white reverse, seams and corners are excellent. There is a small sticker from the store where the album was originally purchased (The Disc Shop, Washington, D.C.). Address on reverse is “235 West 46th Street, New York 36, N. Y.” This is a gorgeous item.
