Description
Released in 1999 on Merge Records. The Music Tapes is a cool project featuring mostly performances by Julian Koster of Neutral Milk Hotel with help from other members of NMH, Olivia Tremor Control and Elf Power. Lo-fi indie stuff created mostly with found-sounds and old instruments, recorded on mostly vintage recording gear, to create very cool psych-pop songs.
The sleeve (like other Music Tapes releases) is created in the style of a pop-up book. The pop-up art was created by Julian Koster. Very cool, and must have been difficult to manufacture! From what I understand there was only one pressing of this LP. I am the original owner and have taken excellent care of it. Sleeve and vinyl are both in near mint condition!
