Description

Here's a fairly scarce record album of Xian Folk from MY BROTHER'S KEEPER titled A NEW SONG. This was privately pressed on the Restoration Records label (Bloomington, Indiana) about 1974. Includes original insert with lyrics.

Male folk trio (Stephe, Gene and Doug Larche, brothers I assume) with gentle jangly acoustic style on their homemade lp. Relaxed harmonies usually backed by two acoustic guitars, bass and drums, plus harmonica on one song. Several originals written by Doug, along with covers of ‘Wichitai Tai’ (an obscure Native American chant), ‘Pass It On’ and ‘Alleluia’. Enriched by a variety of background percussion instruments, including bongos, bell tree, vibes and chimes. Same recording studio (Gilfoy Sound) and manufacturer (Custom Fidelity) as the Vindication lp, on Bloomington, Indiana custom label. - (The Archivist by Ken Scott, 4th Edition).
