Description
Artist: Maceo and All the King's Men
Album: Doing Their Own Thing
Description: Original 1970 stereo first pressing of this classic soul album on the tiny Nashville label House of the Fox. Nice thick vinyl. True originals of this album are tough to find in nice shape. HOF-LP-1 notation on the spine, front cover and back cover and HOF-LPS-1 notation on the label.
Sleeve Condition: VG+, still in original shrink with original inner sleeve and what I believe is the original price tag in the lower right corner. A real time capsule piece. One small cello tear in the upper left and some light corner wear in a couple of spots. Inner sleeve is in great shape.
Vinyl: VG, vinyl looks and plays great. Lays very flat. When held in light you can see some "hazing" spots all over the surface. They don't affect play at all and I'm not sure if it's a pressing defect or low quality vinyl or what. Not sure how that affects the true grade. Other than that, there are just a couple of very superficial hairlines. Label is super-clean with no tears or writing.
Play tested and sounds fantastic. Gorgeous full sound with no pops/ticks/skips, etc. No background noise. There is a very small lip warp just right on the edge. My table tracked through it at 2g with no issues, other than a slightly audible bump for the first handful of rotations. All this adds up to a technically VG record, but it'll be one of the best dang sounding VGs in your collection, I guarantee you.
I want buying from me to be a good experience for you. I also know that condition can be very subjective, so I encourage you to see pics for exact condition details and ask questions if you need additional information. As always, the item you see is the one you will get. Please see my feedback, I think that will show that I am an accurate and fair grader and make sure my customers are happy.
Check out my other listings, I've got several rare soul, R&B, blues and jazz records going up this week. Please mark me as a favorite seller if you like what you see. I have bunch of stuff to get rid of. Good luck and happy bidding!!
